Diablo Blue

DVPC's monthly newsletter, Diablo Blue, includes upcoming meeting announcements; articles, hardware and software reviews; tips and tricks written by DVPC members; articles from other user groups' newsletters; articles written by professional columnists like Steve Bass; news about DVPC's SIGs, our Special Interest Groups; the DVPC Board of Directors meeting minutes (often with humorous asides); our monthly Computer Crossword Puzzle; and much more, all of which can be found in each issue. We've been on the web with complete, HTML, or Adobe Acrobat pdf full-text versions of our printed newsletter since August, 1996.
Starting with the September, 2002 issue the web edition of Diablo Blue has been in Adobe Acrobat pdf format only. And starting with the October, 2002 issue the printed edition of Diablo Blue was eliminated. If you want a printed copy, you can print it from the Adobe Acrobat web version. Since everyone has (or should have!) Adobe Acrobat Reader, all users should be able to read these issues.
Due to production problems, Diablo Blue was not published from October, 2006 through September, 2007. During that period we used an email notification to DVPC members.
Starting with the October, 2007 issue we've switched to a pure web page edition that will be easier to generate each month, and should be easier to read. If you prefer, you'll be able to print the web version.

For the current month's issue: If you received the email notification with the user name and password for the current month's issue of Diablo Blue, you're all set to read on the web or to print a copy.
To read issues earlier than October, 2007 you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher. You can click here to download the latest version of Acrobat Reader and install it to be able to read issues of Diablo Blue that are in pdf format; versions of Acrobat older than 5.0 are not longer compatible with pdf issues of Diablo Blue. If you are upgrading to Acrobat Reader Version 5 or higher, you'll need to uninstall the prior version first.

** While the current month's edition of Diablo Blue is available only to paid-up members of DVPC, past issues are always available to everyone, members and non--members alike. If you're not a member, you will be able to find information about the current month's meeting on our Home page. and about SIG meetings on our SIG Meetings and Calendar pages. To read the complete, current web edition of Diablo Blue you will have to be a paid-up member of DVPC. If you're a member and your dues are due, please send in your payment now. If you're not currently a member, this is a great time to join! And if you're a former DVPC member, we cordially invite you to rejoin!

If you change your email address, be sure to use the form on our Email Notification page so you will continue to receive the monthly Diablo Blue password notifications.

You may find that some of the links in some of the past issues of Diablo Blue are broken. That's quite possible, especially when you look at the older issues. We try to keep our links on our web site, especially those on our Links page, up to date. But please understand that it's impractical for us to try to update links in past issues of the newsletter.
