October 3 Meeting Announcement
Corel and Totally Hip

We will have the opportunity to see some new and truly innovative products when
Corel and Totally Hip come to the DVPC meeting in October. Corel will show the latest update of their popular office suite, Corel® WordPerfect® Suite 8 with Dragon NaturallySpeaking™. This is the first word processor that integrates speech input and recognition. Totally Hip's WebPainter 3 gives you all the tools you need to create professional web animation and graphics. WebPainter's ease-of-use and unique cel animation process creates high-quality GIF animation.
DVPC meetings are held in the lobby conference room in Building B at the Bank of America Technology Center office complex in Concord, located near the northeast corner of Clayton Road at Galindo (see the Map to Monthly Meetings). Please use the main entrance of the building, which is in the center of the front of the building that faces Clayton road.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. The New User's SIG has their meeting from 6:30 to 7:00. We'll also have the Networking Table from 6:30 to 7:00; if you have something to sell or trade, need technical help, or just want to exchange views, visit the Networking Table. We'll probably have one of our ever-popular mini-auctions with great products, so bring your checkbooks and cash! Also, as usual, we'll have library disks and those great DVPC mugs (version 2) for sale, SIG news, random access, and some of our usual great door prizes. See you at the meeting!

For years, Janet not only ran the membership desk at our meetings, but she also assisted in several of the club's operations, including the newsletter, picking up and distributing our mail, attending board meetings, and maintaining the membership rolls. Janet was always available if we needed information and never acted as if it were a bother.
Her insights into the club's operation were invaluable, and her efforts and organizational skills  greatly streamlined our procedures and saved the club money. Janet was truly an Unsung Hero to DVPC and I know

You Asked for It!

We've been asked to make Diablo Blue available in Adobe Acrobat format,
so it can be read as a unit. Well, here it is folks! It's a huge file to download
(as PDF files often are), about 1.3MB this month, but if you have the

bandwidth, or the time, go for it! You'll need Adobe Acrobat, and/or the
Acrobat plug-in for your browser, to be able to read this PDF document file.
Ready?
