March 5 Meeting Announcement
Adobe and Parroty

This month Adobe Systems will demonstrate PageMill 3.0 for Windows 95. PageMill has been a very popular web site development tool for the Macintosh, and now this latest version is available for the PC platform. PageMill lets you design a web site without having to learn the ins and outs of HTML tags, and provides full site management as well. We'll also get a peek at some of Adobe's other packages... and they have a full line for Windows users including PageMaker and PhotoShop. This should be a very interesting presentation!
Parroty Interactive is a... well,
different software publisher. Their specialty is software that parodies popular packages (Parroty, parody; get it?). Perhaps their most famous is their first: Pyst, a parody of that most popular of games, Myst. Now they've done what a cream pie to Bill Gate's face couldn't: they have built a parody of the quite late, upcoming new version of that most popular operating system. You won't believe what you see when Parroty demonstrates Microshaft Winblows 98. You have got to see this one in all its glory!
DVPC meetings are held in the lobby conference room in Building B at the Bank of America Technology Center office complex in Concord, located near the northeast corner of Clayton Road at Galindo (see the map, directions, and parking information on page 14). Please use the main entrance of the building, which is in the center of the front of the building that faces Clayton road.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. The New User's SIG has their meeting from 6:30 to 7:00. We'll also have the Networking Table from 6:30 to 7:00; if you have something to sell or trade, need technical help, or just want to exchange views, visit the Networking Table. We'll probably have one of our ever-popular mini-auctions with great products, so bring your checkbooks and cash! Also, as usual, we'll have library disks and those great DVPC mugs (version 2) for sale, SIG news, random access, and some of our usual great door prizes. See you at the meeting!

An embarrassment of riches! In the next few months, we have a number of truly excellent speakers lined up including Adobe, IDT (WinChip), Microsoft, Syquest, Quarterdeck, Cybermedia and Parotty. Additionally, a few of our own members are scheduled to present some topics of interest.
We tabulated the questionnaires from last meeting. Unfortunately, the sample was too small to give any clear indications - although we will try to expand Random Access. We decided therefore to bring some questionnaires to our next meeting. Stand up and be counted! Speaking of counting - elections are in April. There are a few vacancies on the Board!! Hint, hint.
I still have some unclaimed software sent from Symantec for the meeting they missed. If you haven't claimed your software by this next meeting, we will put it in the raffle/auction. Last call!
PLEASE BRING A FRIEND - our membership drive is continuing.
