Meeting Date: October 12, 2000 Time: 7:00 p.m. Location: Alan Mildwurm's house Bank Account: $2,000 (approximately) Before getting into the minutes I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for all the emails from those of you who missed my Board Minutes in the last two issues of Diablo Blue. It humbles me to think that I am able to bring even just a few minutes of pleasure and entertainment to so many of you. I know that in our ever more busy and, yes, hectic lives these days it is difficult to find the time even to dash off a few sentences in an email. I have the same problem myself. So although you never actually sent those kind letters, I know you meant to… So where was I? At the end of July I started a new job in Pleasanton, only a few miles from our Board meeting site at Alan's home. Needless to say, I looked forward with anticipation to the August Board meeting. Instead of driving from Concord to San Ramon for the meeting, then back home to Concord, my plan was to work a little late, then head straight up 680 a few miles to the Board meeting, and then on home. I was feeling very pleased with this plan as I neared Alan's house. That feeling quickly dissipated as I pulled up in front and noticed there were no cars parked in front, not even Alan's in the driveway. A quick glance at my watch told me it was indeed Wednesday. But I was about seven minutes early. Have barged in once before only to find the meeting had been cancelled, and having felt rather foolish for not checking my email that time, I decided to drive around until it was a few minutes after seven o'clock. That way I might be a little late, but if the meeting was to be held, there would certainly be the cars of other Board members in front. I returned at ten minutes after seven to find the street still empty. I took the hint and drove on home, where I sent an email to Ron asking what was going on. His return email informed me that as announced at the regular meeting the week before, the August Board meeting had been cancelled.
