Coming soon to the DVPC web site will be a complete listing of all the software, books, and videos we have ready to be checked out. For those of you who have not yet taken advantage of our library program, please be aware that we have the following items available:
Software: We have found shareware and freeware programs, downloaded them, and placed them on 3½" disks. These are sold for $5.00 a disk. This way you don't have to waste your time and can spend it working on those "business applications" (let's see, did you want both "Solitaire" and "Sub Chase"?).
Books: We have a large collection of computer books on almost every subject you need to become a better user. New titles are donated by members on a regular basis, so check the current listing or email Craig at compmail@pacbell.net with your request. If we don't have what you need, we usually know where you can find it. Books are checked out for one month with an extra month if you need it. This service is free with a refundable deposit of $5.00.
Videos: Most of the videos at this time are produced by the companies trying to sell software, so you get what seems to be a LONG commercial (but one you can fast forward through). There is a lot of good information and this is a great way to learn what a the manufacturer says the program should be able to do. Videos are checked out for one month with an extra month if you need it. This service is free with a refundable deposit of $5.00.
