Real Estate SIG Bill Thompson, SIG Leader - 693-0174

The new Real Estate SIG meeting location is still being researched, so meetings have been postponed until a new location can be finalized. The relocation is required because the Insurance Commissioner's office is prosecuting 5 other title companies for current RESPA violations. My boss and I are trying to figure out how to side step the commissioners office and make our efforts legal. If you have any ideas they would be appreciated. Contact SIG Leader Bill Thompson at (925) 998-8530 or email at thompson@dlsnetwork.com for additional information.

Windows SIG Ron Ogg (283-7900 Ext. 201) and Walt Parsons (934-0775), SIG Co-Leaders

The Windows SIG meets at the Community Room at the Concord Police Department Building on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Note that this is a new night! Everyone who uses, is interested in, or is curious about Windows on their PC, is invited to attend.
Here are directions: The Concord Police Department is at 1350 Galindo Street in Concord. From the 242 Freeway take Clayton Road east to Galindo and turn right; the Police Department building is 3 blocks south on your left. From Highway 24 take Monument Blvd. east and continue on Monument Blvd. to where it changes to Galindo; the Police Department building will be on your right a short distance past the signal at Cowell Road.

cludes compression software, file organization and recovery, and security. (Their Mac line also includes uninstallers and developer's tools).
I think that if you are interested in useful utilities, you need to be at our February meeting!!
In March (assuming we survive the Y2K leap year problem -- though I thought that we were done with Y2K -- not as long as Tom has all that bottled water) we will have a Networking Night. Our Board members will (attempt) to network at least two computers. We will install the NICs (network interface cards), configure the software, and demonstrate a network -- all without using a safety net (sorry).
In April, Microsoft will roll out WINDOWS 2000 for us. That should be a informative and fun meeting.
Our new Genealogy and Linux SIGs are well under way. It was interesting to see the kind of enthusiasm among those jamming the Linux pavilion at Comdex. As always, if there's a SIG you would like to be involved in but
DVPC doesn't have it, check with Nick Chase at our meeting and find out how you can start it!
See you in February!
